Vinyasa Yoga with Marisa Sako

Private Sessions

Practicing with a teacher privately allows you to tailor your session to your specific needs, such as dealing with an injury or health concern. I have studied yoga for backcare and have experience in using these therapeutic practices one-on-one.

If you are new to yoga, private lessons can also help you build a strong foundation before diving into group classes.

Working one-on-one with a teacher gives you the space and time to gain greater understanding of challenging poses which have always seemed to elude you. (This can do wonders for your inversion and arm-balance practice.)

Rates:

$120/hour for an individual

$600/six sessions to be used within three weeks
(perfect to jump-start your practice)

$150/hour for a joint lesson (you + 1 or 2 friends/co-workers/significant other)

Contact me about rates for groups or corporate yoga.

Please respect the 24-hour cancellation policy: lessons must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the appointment time to avoid being charged.

We can meet at a studio in lower-Manhattan or in Brooklyn where they will have all the accoutrements for you to use.

Or I can come to you, but you must have your own mat and a few essential props: 2 foam or cork blocks, at least one yoga blanket, and a yoga strap. A bolster and eye pillow can be really nice too, but not essential unless we are going to do primarily restorative yoga. Most studios sell mats: Bend & Bloom carries Jade Harmony which is a super-sticky natural rubber mat that is a favorite in the yoga community. Kula carries Manduka mats, and their EkoLite is the one that I practice on (not the ProLite, which is way too slippery.) I only mention this because a lot of new-comers to yoga wind up picking up a mat that isn't sticky enough and then they're disappointed when the mat feels like a Slip 'n' Slide during their lesson.
